More about me
Brief Biography
My name is Mordechai Wollenberg.
I grew up in Oxford, England.
I attended Carmel College, a Jewish high
school in the Oxfordshire countryside.
After High School, I attended Machon Meir
Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
I then spent three years doing a Computer
Science degree at Birmingham University, UK, where I became more involved with
Chabad-Lubavitch.
I then studies for five years, at Yeshiva Hadar Hatorah (see www.hadarhatorah.org)
a Baal Teshuva Yeshiva in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York.
I then studied for Semicha (Rabbinical ordination) in the
Lubavitcher Kollel (married men's division) in Crown Heights, receiving my
ordination from Rabbi Yeruslavsky, of Eretz Yisrael, in 2003.
I am married to Blima nee Wolfe, from Phoenix, Arizona.
We have one son, Eli, who was born in January '04.
We are now living in Cardiff, Wales, UK
where we are Rabbi and Rebbetzen of the Cardiff United Synagogue.
My other interests include music (I took
piano lessons for many years), computing (I have designed several other sites
including the Hadar Hatorah site and www.solihullshul.org,
www.psuchabad.org, www.obentzion.com)
and foreign travel (I have travelled throughout Europe and many times to
Israel.)
When a very dear friend of mine, Barny Nemko,
commented that as somebody studying in Yeshiva, I ought to be able to come up
with some kind of a weekly Dvar Torah, I took up the challenge.
This is the result!
Hope you enjoy it.
